What would you like to see in DUFC?

I’ve been running this ship for several months now. Bizarre, but true. I was wondering if you, the community, had any suggestions for what you’d like to see changed in the way the carnival is run. Perhaps you’d like new categories, for instance. Mary kindly suggested that I create a delicious tag, so you can tag posts you want to draw to our attention. Would that work for you? Let me know!

    A category for new-newish bloggers?

Just tossing a few ideas out there:

A round up of new Down Under Feminist bloggers each month, if there are any?

An “Art” category? I might be missing something, but it looks like we only have one for literature. I’m also not sure what the right category is for workplace or hobby-related feminism (I’d probably submit my own Geek Feminism writing more often if we have an appropriate category.)

Chally, I’m a fan of the reorganisation of categories – they make a bit more sense to me now 🙂

    I have a suggested addition: religion (or maybe Religion/Atheism 🙂 ).

Oh my goodness, Jo, I actually sorted them out when we spoke about it – but you’d never believe it: the changes wouldn’t take. I woke up at 4.30 this morning and figured out how to make them stick AT LAST, grr. There are more categories I would like to add, but as it turns out, there’s a character limit on the category entry form. I will have to keep it in mind for when I review how these new categories play out, and if there’s one that isn’t getting entries, I’ll have to remember to shove it and replace it with your excellent suggestion!

Well done for figuring it out 🙂

Pity about the character restriction. I didn’t think any of the current categories was a dud, though. Religion can always go in “Life” (which I think is what I submitted a post under).
